When I started college, I thought I could easily juggle classes and a part-time job. I needed the money, and I figured, how hard could it be?
I was so wrong.
My schedule was a mess. I would rush to class half-asleep after late-night shifts, struggle to focus, and barely have time for assignments. My friends would ask me to hang out, and I’d have to say no every time. At one point, I even considered dropping my job, but I knew that wasn’t an option.
What helped? Fixing my schedule. I started planning my work shifts around my classes instead of the other way around. I also learned to set boundaries. I stopped saying yes to extra shifts just because I felt guilty. And most importantly, I started asking for help when I needed it.
It’s still hard sometimes, but I finally have a rhythm. If you’re working while studying, my biggest advice is: plan ahead, don’t overwork yourself, and don’t be afraid to say no when needed.
It's that simple!
